What is the difference between DMC Gen2 and Gen1?
DMC Gen2 brings significant improvements: simplified and lightning fast pairing process, as well as a crystal clear wideband intercom sound.
- Easier and faster pairing process: The pairing is rapid, lightning-fast, pairing a group of 10 communicators takes no more than a few seconds. We’ve also simplified the process itself by removing the group admin function. With DMC gen 2 pairing has never been so easy and so fast.
- Wideband intercom: DMC gen 2 provides a crystal clear wideband intercom voice second to none. Expect sound quality akin to a good video conference.
What is the difference between PACKTALK BOLD and PACKTALK EDGE?
PACKTALK EDGE offers several improved key features, including:
- Air Mount: a completely revolutionary, simple, and secure magnetic mount.
- DMC 2nd generation: lightning-fast pairing and a crystal clear wideband intercom voice.
- A complete redesigned sound system by JBL.
- An improved natural voice operation with an improved noise-filtering microphone. PACKTALK EDGE is powered by Bluetooth 5.2, and also features in addition:
- Fast charging: 2 hours of talk time after 20 minutes of charge.

Does the PACKTALK EDGE connect to other generation Cardo units (Packtalk, Freecom, G, Q)?
PACKTALK EDGE is fully compatible with all DMC products. It also connects to all Cardo units using regular Bluetooth pairing. G and Q units need to be on phone pairing mode before starting pairing.
Can I use my unit in the rain?
Sure. All Cardo units are waterproof. This means you can ride in the rain and enjoy top communication.
What are the advantages of Bluetooth 5.2?
Your unit is equipped with the most advanced Bluetooth 5.2 chip in the market. It enables the integration of the latest audio technologies and improves significantly the quality of the Intercom. Bluetooth 5.2 is also more efficient and more secure, it offers faster pairing capabilities, as well as longer battery life.
What are the advantages of USB-C
A USB-C is more robust, it is easy to plug, and it fits with any standard USB-C cable. It also enables Fast Charging (2 hours talk time after 20 minutes of charging).
What warranty does Cardo offer?
Cardo offers an extended 3-year warranty for PACKTALK EDGE, starting from the date of purchase, that covers product failures as detailed in the warranty document. Please keep your proof of purchase to reclaim your warranty.
How can I update my unit?
No need for a cable, the Software update is Over the Air, using your mobile phone. Download Cardo Connect app to your mobile phone, go to Settings, select your unit, and then click on the latest available software update. Of course, you can also update the software with a USB cable on your computer. Download and open the Cardo Update app from Cardo website, connect your unit and follow the instructions. Updating with the latest software will keep your unit free of bugs and will provide you with additional new functionalities. We recommend updating your unit before first use.
Do I need to be connected to cellular when using PACKTALK EDGE?
No cellular coverage is needed, your always-on Intercom keeps you connected.
How easy is PACKTALK EDGE to install?
Unlike existing built-in radio communication systems, PACKTALK EDGE can be easily installed on any helmet, by yourself, in the comfort of your home or at the dealership. View the installation video to see how easy it is to install.
Can I share my music with other PACKTALK EDGE off-road users?
Yes, you can easily share your favorite music during the drive with another unit.
Can I use a PACKTALK EDGE or a PACKTALK BOLD accessory on PACKTALK NEO?
PACKTALK NEO uses a unique clickable cradle that is not compatible with other Cardo products. Non-cradle accessories, such as microphones and speakers are fully compatible with PACKTALK NEO.
What is the difference between PACKTALK NEO and PACKTALK EDGE?
PACKTALK NEO and PACKTALK EDGE offer the same level of technology and features. The main difference is in the mounting: PACKTALK EDGE features a magnetic Air Mount, whereas PACKTALK NEO has a clickable mounting. In addition, charging while riding is possible only on PACKTALK EDGE. Additionally, PACKTALK NEO offers a 2-year warranty, while PACKTALK EDGE warranty is extended to 3 years.

I use an HD half Helmet which has ear pockets (zip). At 65 mph the sound is excellent. Listen to tunes or podcast at 1/4 volume, wearing earplugs is not a problem either. Phone calls are not an issue at speed. I did find myself holding the mic close to my mouth, almost touching my upper lip to lessen the wind around the mic but the person at the other end had no problem hearing me. And if your other other helmet is a full helmet, you can probably get away with just adding a speaker set as the base Cardo kit has a few helmet attachments along with 2 mic's to choose from. Highly recommend.
The duo pack is the best bang for your buck. I’ve been using Cardo products for 10 years and they just keep getting better and better.
Love the quality, functions and usage. But after a year of owning it won’t turn on unless it’s plugged it. I should’ve kept the receipt…

Great comm device! I have charged mine hundreds of times over 80,000 miles of riding and the battery life is getting a little shorter finally, but it has served me well.
Install was fairly simple and I have found it easy to use so far.
It’s a really good system just not as loud as I wanted it to be
Purchased Cardo fort the first time. First time using an audible device while snowmobiling. I must say the clarity of the device was superb for most of the time. There where periods of static, which none of us knew what was causing it. But it would come and go. The only other negative was the distance between sleds where connection was lost. I thought the distance would have been greater than what it was, which was a negative to those that ride slower. We would lose contact with them until we waited at every junction for them to catch up. Other than that the device exceeded my expectations.

Quality item for the most part .. well constructed, great battery life.. acceptable range... My only real issue is the lack of volume control. If there is a way to separate music volume from communication volume, while using a streaming service like Pandora, I can't seem to figure it out. I don't see a way to do so in the app or with the controls.
It's a good system easy to install and the quality seems like its going to last a long time.i highly recommended it for music or passenger,group riding.
Purchased this in support of The Rolling Barrage ride for veterans and first responders. We use Packtalk Edge for communication with our road safety crew. The mesh communication system works well keeping 100 riders safe across Canada every August!
Happy with the unit. Sound is decent and all functions work as advertised.
Range to communicate with lesser models is average at 500m max. The connector plug for the microphone is delicate - I damaged the tiny pins and had to use the one out of my second helmet kit...will request a replacement mic.
Had Sena in the past. A great upgrade. Sound quality is awesome. Hightly recommended
If it wernt for my helmet and cardo pack talk edge i wouldnt be here, i hit a deer on my bike at 10:30 at night and having the cardo pack talk edge on my helmet was a life saver and allowed me to contact the right people, thank you cardo!

Just got back from a three week trip to Tuktoyaktuk. The units were easy to set up and operate. They made the trip safer and more fun with being able to communicate instantly. The battery life is about 12 hours, which we exceeded some days but a quick 20 min charge while at a gas stop got us through the day.
The option to have built in speakers is so much better than having to chase my ear buds every time I take off my helmet. Bought an extra helmet kit for my dirtbike helmet and also enjoy the ability to stay in contact with the group since a lot more chaos can occur in the woods and mountains.
The battery life is great. Has plenty of functions with ease of access. Once I learned how the voice function worked it was a game changer. People always said how well cardo work and I’m a believer after getting this one.
