CARDO SYSTEMS DEBUTS SAFE, WIRELESS HEADSETS FOR MOTORCYCLISTS, SCOOTER ENTHUSIASTS WITH NON-BLUETOOTH MOBILE PHONES

2006 International CES, Las Vegas, Booth#35838 - Cardo Systems, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of wireless Bluetooth™ devices for the consumer market, today announced the debut of its scala-rider™ Combo unit, which provides motorcyclists and scooter enthusiasts with handsfree, wireless communications capabilities even when used with standard, non-Bluetooth mobile phones. The product bundles Cardo's award-winning scala-rider headset with its new Bluetooth adapter, the BTA II, and will be available for viewing at Booth #35838 of the 2006 International CES.

Specifically designed for both motorcycle and scooter helmets, the system features a wind-resistant microphone that provides clear wireless audio communications while riding at speeds of up to 75 mph. The BTA II included in the scala-rider combo version enables users with standard, non-Bluetooth phones to enjoy the safe and hands-free advantages of wireless communication, including voice-controlled handling of incoming and outgoing calls. The inconspicuous Cardo BTA II is the world's smallest universal Bluetooth adapter and functions with virtually any standard mobile phone.

Keeping the safety of its customers in mind, Cardo has designed the scala-rider so that cyclists can manage their phone calls by voice control without having to let go of their vehicle's handlebars. The system also features an embedded sensor that automatically adjusts volume levels according to driving speed and ambient noise, making manual adjustment of volume virtually unnecessary.

The scala-rider is fully weather protected, allowing riders to use the device without worry in rainy and snowy conditions, and can be self-installed within minutes to fit both full- or open-faced helmets without adhesive. The entire system — headset and adapter — provides approximately 8 hours of talk-time and a full week of standby time.

The scala rider Combo unit has an MRSP of $199.95 US. For additional information about the system or about other Cardo Systems products, visit www.cardosystems.com.
